BMI Categories

< 18.5 Underweight May indicate malnutrition, eating disorders or other health issues.
18.5 – 24.9 Normal weight Associated with the lowest risk of weight-related health problems.
25 – 29.9 Overweight Increased risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and hypertension.
30 – 34.9 Obese class I High risk. Lifestyle changes and medical consultation are recommended.
35 – 39.9 Obese class II Very high risk. Medical treatment is strongly advised.
≥ 40 Obese class III Extremely high risk. Immediate medical attention is strongly recommended.
